Configuring Bonus Featured Template
There are four list view templates included with the Business Directory application. They are named DNNP-BD6.1 List View, DNNP-BD6.1 List View 2, DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid, and DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid.
In this lesson we will discuss setup of the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid and the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid.
These templates are designed to show featured listed companies and can be configured to fit vertically or horizontally on your portal page.

The DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid template is designed to be used on any page of your site and will open the listing detail in-line on that page or in a new window if show detail inline is not checked in the XMod template settings .
The DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template is designed to be used on any page of your site and will open the listing detail on your separate detail page (see for more information on use of separate detail page - Step 7 - Configure Template Settings 2).
Step 1. XMod Configuration for the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid template
Quick set up.

Edit DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid Template
Manage Templates >> Template Settings
The preference here is to not check Show Details Inline. This will open the details in its own window. Note: As referenced below, the details will be encased in the portal skin you have configured for your portal edit skin in Admin Settings >> Appearance >> Edit Skin.

Next you will decide if you want your listings to show vertically or horizontally. You will also decide how many listings you desire to show in each row or column.

Manage Templates >> Item Settings >> Pager Style
Note: No changes need to be made in the editor code window for the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid Template

Optionally Use the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid
The only difference with using the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template is that it is designed to be used with the separate Xmod detail module as described in previous lessons.
When using the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template, the configuration procedure is almost identical to the procedure explained above.
To use the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template we will need to edit the template to modify two links to our separate details page.

Edit DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid Template

We will need to acquire the portal tabid of the page that our detail module is on and the xmid Id of our Xmod detail module on that page.
The DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template only requires editing of of two links. This procedure is identical to the procedure described in Lesson 7 (Template Settings 2 >> Step 2. XMod Configuration for the DNNP-BD6.1 List View 2 template and uses the same tabid and xmid values).

Step 2.
Add New XMod Module instance to a Portal Page
Next we will add another Xmod module instance to a portal page of our choice.

Step 3.
XMod Configuration for DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid

Select your form choice, the DNNP-BD6.1 Tabbed detail View template and the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured Grid template.

Next, we will configure Xmod to only return listings that meet our criteria selection. Although this template is named the featured grid template, we can also configure it to show new listings, only Platinum sponsor listings, etc.
Go to Data Settings >> Filtering >> DNN Filter Options >> Filter Using Form Values.
To have only listings that the Administrator, in the form Admin console, flagged as Featured:

In the options shown above, we have filtered to only show listings that are flagged as featured and we have configured page size to optionally only show 4 listings. After four listings are shown the remainder of the listings will be paged.
Note: You could also select any other form field to be the filtered field. As an example, if we wanted to only show listings that the Administrator has flagged as Platinum sponsors, we would filter by cboSponsor and the form value 5-Platinum.
Optionally, if you want to show new listings that have been added in a certain date period, you would not use the Filter Using Form Values configuration. Rather, you could set the following values:

Configure your security settings. In this case, you may want to only give Administrators security rights to this XMod instance.
Optional XMod Configuration for DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid
The XMod configuration, when using the DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid template is identical to the instructions above.
The only difference is selecting DNNP-BD6.1 Tabbed Detail View 2 as your detail template and DNNP-BD6.1 List View Featured 2 Grid as your listing template.

Save Changes.
Done.
Great Job!
