This is absolutley the best file upload control for XMod and a required add-on for DNN Professor applications.

Once purchased you can use this add-on for all DNN Professor applications and your own custom XMod applications.

Note: The current version is 3.5.3+ and upgrade is available in the SnowCovered.com Patches and Hot Fix section after purchase.

FatGeorge Housekeeper

FatGeorge Housekeeper Add-On for XMod and Business DirectoryThe fatgeorge HouseKeeper for XMod cleans up after you in XMod; removing those orphaned fileuploads taking up vital and costly disk space on your server, maintaining the parent/child relationship of records, removing the forgotten about expired records.

When Housekeeper is installed on the same portal as Business Directory, it will track any deleted directory listings and remove the folder and files associated with that listing.

After following the instructions that are included with Housekeeper, add these Business Directory form fields to the Housekeeper fgfu_Housekeeper_key folder in the DotNetNuke lists table.

FatGeorge Tag Cloud

FatGeorge TagCloud Add-On for XMod and Business DirectoryThe fatgeorge Tag Cloud for XMod is a great tool to render a category or sub category dashboard for Business Directory. When installed on your portal with Business Directory, it will track your categories and create links to your listing page for that category.

FatGeorge Tag Cloud dashboard for Business Directory

A tag cloud  is a visual depiction of content tags used on a website. Often, more frequently used tags are depicted in a larger font or otherwise emphasized, while the displayed order is generally alphabetical. Thus both finding a tag by alphabet and by popularity is possible. Selecting a single tag within a tag cloud will generally lead to a collection of items that are associated with that tag.

Once purchased you can use this add-on for all DNN Professor applications and your own custom XMod applications.

To learn how to configure TagCloud for use with Business Directory read Buck's article, How To Use the FatGeorge Tag Cloud Control.

FatGeorge Syndication

FatGeorge Syndication Add-On for XMod and Business DirectoryThe fatgeorge Syndication for XMod is a great tool to create a Google sitemap of your Business Directory detail pages. It will get your customer listings listed in the Google search engine. Click the RSS icon for an example...

Business Directory example RSS Feed using FatGeorge Syndication

Web syndication is a form of syndication in which website material is made available to multiple other sites. Most commonly, web syndication refers to making web feeds available from a site in order to provide other people with a summary of the website's recently added content (for example, the latest news or forum posts).

The problem with using the DNN built-in syndication option is that it knows nothing about your XMod application, it cannot link a feed item to the correct detail view of your data it simply leads the user back to your list template.

Syndication for XMod is built specifically for XMod, with it you can generate RSS 2.0 feeds on a scheduled basis.

What's more because it's built for XMod it knows about your XMod data; to create a feed you use the provided XMod built application 'fg_RSS_Manager' to specify your portal, XMod form, which form fields to use for the feed's title, description and items.

Once purchased you can use this add-on for all DNN Professor applications and your own XMod applications.

See Syndication is action at http://dnnprofessor.com/DNNDirectory.aspx.

Buck's Syndication training article will be available soon in the articles library.
